I had the incredible opportunity to travel every summer with my family when I was young, road tripping to and camping in state parks and national parks across the United States until I graduated from high school, with several overseas trips to boast.
I knew I wanted more out of my new-found independent life after college; I adopted my German Shepherd, Kenda, two months after graduation and then found myself longing for the travel I had been so fortunate to experience earlier in my life.
I took my first solo trip in October 2018 with Kenda - I packed up my hatchback and drove to New Mexico, then Colorado, then Utah. I mountain biked and hiked every chance I could; it was my first experience traveling alone without the guidance of my family and fueled my desire for more exploration.
Since that trip, I have been lucky to road trip to several more places, just myself and Kenda. Exploring has become a necessity in my life and I firmly believe I would not be the same person had I not had these experiences.
